Edinburgh Global Undergraduate Maths Scholarships
A number of scholarships are offered to Mathematics students of outstanding ability from countries outside the European Union for the academic session 2017-2018.
Award
The scholarships are worth ?1,000 per year and tenable for the duration of the programme of study, subject to satisfactory progress.
A student is deemed to have made Satisfactory Progress in each year if there has been a formal School decision of either "Progress" or "Conditional Progression", without the student needing to repeat a year. If a student does not make satisfactory progress in any one year the award will terminate from that point onwards.
Scholarship cheques are handed to the winners at an award ceremony at the beginning of the academic session.
Eligibility
It is awarded to applicants from countries outside the European Union who are accepted for full-time admission to an undergraduate degree programme offered by the School of Mathematics at the University.
The scholarship is not available to students already on programme.
Applicants should have applied through the University and Colleges Admission Service (UCAS) and been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh by the scholarship closing date of 3 April 2017.
Criteria
This scholarship is competitive and based on academic merit.

Robertson International Scholarships
The School of History, Classics and Archaeology is offering up to 10 undergraduate scholarships to overseas students beginning their studies in September 2017.
Award
Each scholarship is worth ?500 and is tenable for one year.
Eligibility
Applicants must be nationals of a country outside the EU and be liable for the overseas rate of fee. Applicants should have applied through the University and Colleges Admission Service (UCAS) to commence an undergraduate programme of study within the School of History, Classics and Archaeology for the 2017-2018 academic year.
The scholarship is not available to students already on programme.

The scholarships are competitive and awarded on the basis of academic merit.

China Scholarship Council/University of Edinburgh Scholarships
Scholarships will be available for PhD study to candidates who are citizens and permanent residents of the People's Republic of China at the time of applying for entry for the academic year 2017-2018.
Candidates should have satisfied all English language requirements and have received an offer of admission from the University of Edinburgh to study on a full-time PhD degree programme by the time the University puts forward their list of endorsed applications (Friday 24 February 2017).
Scholarships are available for study in the following Schools:
Biological Sciences
Chemistry
Engineering
GeoSciences
Mathematics
Medicine and Veterinary Medicine with particular emphasis on Public Health, Life Science and Agriculture
For successful applicants, the applicable School will provide scholarships to cover tuition fees and additional programme costs, and CSC will consider their application for a living allowance as prescribed from time to time by the Chinese Government (which includes Student Health cover), a return airfare from China to the UK by the most economical route, and visa application fees.
Eligibility
The scholarships will be awarded to citizens and permanent residents of the People's Republic of China at the time of application who are accepted for admission on a full-time basis for a postgraduate PhD degree programme at the University of Edinburgh.
Candidates should not be currently working outside China at the time of application, and successful candidates must agree to return to China upon completion of their research degree at the University of Edinburgh. Candidates currently studying outside China are eligible to apply, but not those who have already commenced a PhD programme of study prior to the 2017-2018 academic year.
Candidates nominated by the University to be considered for a scholarship should satisfy the selection criteria set out by CSC by completing the CSCApplication Form and the CSC Employer Reference Form which can be found on the CSC website.
Criteria
The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit with candidates requiring the equivalent of a first-class honours degree from a Chinese university.
Applying
Applicants should apply online for PhD admission to the University of Edinburgh and should complete a China Scholarship Council/University of Edinburgh Joint Scholarship application form which should be submitted to the relevant College/School, also by 1st February 2017. We encourage applicants who wish to apply for this scholarship to make contact with their academic school regarding any admission deadlines.
In addition to applying to the University for admission, candidates nominated by the University to be considered for a scholarship should also complete the China Scholarship Council (CSC)application form and Employer Reference and submit to the CSC. Application forms are available online between 20 March 2017 and 5 April 2017 on the CSC website. There will only be one round of scholarship applications this year so you must apply to the CSC between 20 March and 5 April if you wish to be considered

Croucher Foundation Scholarships (Hong Kong)
The Croucher Foundation is an independent private foundation established by the late Noel Croucher in 1979 to promote the standard of the natural sciences, technology and medicine in Hong Kong. The work of the Foundation is organised into five broad areas:
scholarships and fellowships for promising young Hong Kong scientists and medical doctors to pursue research overseas;
research fellowships to enable scientists in Hong Kong to pursue their intellectual inclinations, and to engage in bold new work;
conferences, workshops and collaborative research to facilitate the exchange of ideas between Hong Kong scientists and their counterparts overseas;
demonstration lectures to promote a wider understanding of science among Hong Kong school students and undergraduate students; and
support for any undergraduate student in Hong Kong experiencing sudden financial difficulty.

Principal's Career Development PhD Scholarships
Award
Each scholarship covers the UK/EU rate of tuition fee as well as a stipend of ?14,500. Subject to satisfactory progress, the scholarships are awarded for three years.
Eligibility
The awards are open to UK, EU and overseas students applying to start their first year of study for a research degree in 2017-2018. Award applicants should contact the School with whom they intend to study before applying for the award to ascertain whether the funding is available for the discipline involved. (Edinburgh College of Art, The School of Law and The School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures are not participating this award in 2017-18)
Applicants must have already applied for admission to a full-time PhD research programme of study at the University. Applicants intending to study a part-time PhD research programme will only be considered for the scholarship if they have the approval of the School they wish to study with. We encourage applicants who wish to apply for this scholarship to make contact with their academic school regarding any admission deadlines.
Candidates are required to have good English Language skills with scholarship applicants normally requiring a minimum IELTS of 7.0 achieved within the past two years. Please check the Entry Requirements for your proposed programme of study for details of other acceptable English language qualifications. The requirement for an IELTS score of 7.0 (or equivalent) may be higher than the level required for admissions purposes.
You may apply for the scholarship prior to obtaining the necessary English language test results but the results should be uploaded as soon as possible.
Please also note that if you have applied for consecutive registration where you will start your Master's programme of study in 2017 and your PhD the following year in 2018, that you will not be eligible to apply for a Principal's Career Development Scholarship in 2017. Principal's awards cannot be held concurrently with fully-funded scholarships but can be held with partial awards such as the Edinburgh Global Research Scholarships.
Criteria
Applicants must be of outstanding academic merit and research potential. Candidates must have, or expect to obtain, a UK first class or 2:1 honours degree at undergraduate level or the international equivalent.
Other factors such as financial status, nationality and the proposed field of study are not taken into account.
The University will not generally consider candidates who have already obtained a PhD, or formal equivalent, as a result of direct research training.
Applying
This award is now closed and no further applications will be accepted for the 2017-2018 academic session.
Selection Procedure
The University will use the information you provide on your scholarship application form together with the information contained in the supporting documentation (reference and academic transcript) which you submitted as part of your application for admission to administer and assess your scholarship application and to select successful applicants.
Shortlisted candidates should expect to be invited to attend an interview which will take place either in person or by telephone.

申請(qǐng)者必須已經(jīng)申請(qǐng)了愛(ài)丁堡大學(xué)全日制博士研究學(xué)位專業(yè)的入學(xué)資格。想要申請(qǐng)非全日制博士研究專業(yè)的申請(qǐng)者，只有在獲得自己意向?qū)W習(xí)專業(yè)所屬院系的批準(zhǔn)之后，才具備申請(qǐng)?jiān)摢?jiǎng)學(xué)金的資格。愛(ài)丁堡大學(xué)鼓勵(lì)想要申請(qǐng)?jiān)摢?jiǎng)學(xué)金的申請(qǐng)者聯(lián)系其所申請(qǐng)專業(yè)的所屬院系，了解有關(guān)的申請(qǐng)截止時(shí)間。
候選人需要有足夠熟練的英語(yǔ)語(yǔ)言能力，獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金申請(qǐng)者通常需要雅思考試成績(jī)不低于7.0分，并且必須是兩年以內(nèi)的考試成績(jī)。請(qǐng)了解你所申請(qǐng)學(xué)習(xí)專業(yè)的入學(xué)條件，了解該專業(yè)可以接受的其他英語(yǔ)語(yǔ)言能力資格的其他要求。雅思考試成績(jī)7.0分的要求(或者是同等英語(yǔ)語(yǔ)言能力要求)必須高于入學(xué)目的所需要的英語(yǔ)語(yǔ)言能力考試成績(jī)標(biāo)準(zhǔn)。
你也可以在獲得必需的英語(yǔ)語(yǔ)言能力考試成績(jī)之前申請(qǐng)獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金，但是考試成績(jī)必需盡快上傳。
同時(shí)還請(qǐng)注意，如果你已經(jīng)在2017年在你開(kāi)始碩士學(xué)位專業(yè)學(xué)習(xí)的地方，或者2018年之后一年的博士學(xué)位專業(yè)申請(qǐng)了連續(xù)注冊(cè)，那么你將不具備在2017年申請(qǐng)?jiān)撝饕殬I(yè)發(fā)展獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金的資格。主要獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金不能夠與全額財(cái)政資助的獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金同時(shí)授予，但是可以和部分獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金一起同時(shí)獲得，例如愛(ài)丁堡全球研究獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金。
(3)授予原則
申請(qǐng)者必須一名具備杰出的學(xué)術(shù)成績(jī)以及研究潛力的學(xué)生。候選人必須已經(jīng)獲得，或者將要獲得英國(guó)本科水平的一等或者2:1榮譽(yù)學(xué)位，或者是國(guó)際同等學(xué)歷資格。
其他的原因，例如經(jīng)濟(jì)狀態(tài)，國(guó)籍身份以及推薦學(xué)習(xí)領(lǐng)域?qū)⒉辉侏?jiǎng)學(xué)金授予的考慮范圍內(nèi)。
愛(ài)丁堡大學(xué)一般不會(huì)考慮已經(jīng)獲得博士、或者正式的同等學(xué)歷資格的候選人。
(4)申請(qǐng)
該獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金目前已經(jīng)關(guān)閉了。2017-18學(xué)年將不再接受其他的申請(qǐng)者。

愛(ài)丁堡大學(xué)將會(huì)使用你獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金申請(qǐng)表格上面的信息，以及你入學(xué)申請(qǐng)中作為一部分申請(qǐng)文件遞交的支持性文件(推薦信以及學(xué)術(shù)成績(jī)單)上面的信息，來(lái)評(píng)估和判斷你的獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金申請(qǐng)，并且選擇出獲得獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金的申請(qǐng)者。
獲得獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金的候選人可能需要參加面試，面試形式可能是現(xiàn)場(chǎng)面試或者電話面試形式。
